Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Freight Quality Partnership?
There are over thirty Freight Quality Partnerships, or FQPs, in the UK, bringing together the knowledge and expertise of industry and the public sector. They may differ in size and scope but they all aim to develop an understanding of distribution issues at local level and promote constructive solutions, reconciling the need for access for goods and services with local environmental and social concerns.

Who funds Beacon FQP?
The Beacon FQP, which is the first in Buckinghamshire, is supported by Bucks County Council through the Great Brickhill, Wing and Ivinghoe Local Area Forum.

What is a Local Area Forum?
The role of Local Area Forums in the Aylesbury area is to strengthen local democratic accountability by empowering locally elected councillors to take decisions, shape and influence service delivery and Council priorities in the local community area.
Membership includes County, District and Parish Councillors and representatives from the Police, Health Authority and other organisations. Local people are encouraged to participate, and there will be time set aside at each meeting for public questions.
